I decided that I'm sick of living in an apartment so I bit the bullet and got a mortgage pre-approval and a realtor and will hopefully start looking at houses this week! Super scary but also kind of exciting! I can't wait to have a place that's really my own where I can put up all the Star Wars stuff I want and not have to hear someone bitching about it. That'll be sweeeeeet!

So I bowled in a tournament last night. It was 5 games. By the last game I was so tired that I could barely lift my arm. I probably shouldn't have been rocking out so hard playing Rock Band before the tournament. Anyway, I was doing fairly well and was in first place in my category after the first 3 games. Apparently, some bitch who was in my category was trash talking me behind my back. My brother who was also in the tournament heard her. She was saying that she "hopes that (insert name here a.k.a. me) bowls a buck thirty." I thought that was hilarious!! Mainly becuase I didn't even want to bowl in the stupid thing in the first place. If she wanted it that badly, she could gladly have it. I have no interest in moving on to city, provincial or nationals. My last two games were bad so she probably won. I didn't stick around to find out 'cuz frankly I didn't give a damn. I'm still friggin' sore today.

I need a rubdown :(

So last night Jess, Fran and I decided to go out and have some fun. We started the evening playing Rock Band and we totally rocked it! Then we went to Habano's. We had a lot of fun! The bouncer at the door gave me attitude about my i.d. He insisted that it wasn't me and that it was my mother's i.d. Yeah buddy....right....like i really look 18. Give me a break! There were a lot of weird people there last night so it was fun to make fun of them all haha! At the end of the evening, this kid comes up to me and asks me if I worked at the north RBC. I said yes and he said I was the "raddest chick ever." He thanked me profusely for not giving him hassle for cashing his cheques and helping him out. It was weird but kinda nice. Fran skipped out early to spend time with a potential new beau and Jess and I stayed until closing. Afterwards, we went to Burger King for some food and ordered combo meals and never got our drinks. Oh well...it was 3 in the morning...we really didn't care by that point. I didn't sleep very well and am freaking tired today. I went for a tan this morning and am really contemplating having a nap.
Toodles!

So Friday night I went to see Maxi Priest at Casino Regina's Show Lounge. I was skeptical at first, but I figured that it was a good opportunity to hang out with Roxi and her friends. The show was amazing! He has such an incredible voice! The place was not full by any means but everyone that was there had a great time! Unfortunately, the show was over by 9:30. The girls wanted to go have some fun so we went to Habano's. We were planning on staying for about an hour and ended up staying 3 hours. We had a blast! I had Jamal from Calgary really trying his best to get with me haha!! Sorry buddy....I'm not into gangstas and bling. Eeeeewwwwww!!! It didn't help either that Rina kept telling EVERYONE that I was single. So embarassing!! We left as the booty shaking contest was starting...yeah...I know...sketchy, right?
It was a great night and I had so much fun! I might have to start going out Fridays more often!

Well, here I am!

A new year...a new life sans husband.

What does the universe have in store for me this year? Hopefully good things....I could use some good things right about now!

So hubby and I are separated. It happened just before Christmas but I didn't move out until January, so needless to say, Christmas was awkward. We're getting along now. It's been pretty amicable so that's more than I thought it would be. I moved to an apartment so I can't have dogs there so he has to keep both dogs for now. That's really hard...not having my baby girl with me. He lets me see them whenever I want and when he goes out of town I get to dog-sit them. I'm hoping to get my own house sometime this year and when I do I can have Leia live with me.

Now that I have nothing better to do (or to do it with haha), I'm hoping to blog more.
Let's see how that goes!

Just saw "Iron Man"...and I gotta say...WOW!! It was even better than I expected (and I expected a lot).
Usually I like to see movies as soon as they come out so I can get a fresh perspective before all the reviews come out, but even after reading everything and hearing the HUGE grosses, I still was vastly impressed. It was so nice to see movie that had a great script, great actors and a great director. Jon Favreau really outdid himself on this one. He's so money and he doesn't even know it (ha ha). Robert Downey, Jr. has been resurrected from B-list oblivion and once again has established himself as one of the great actors of our generation. Back in the 80's I always thought he was destined for greatness, but then he crashed and burned. But he pulled himself out of ashes, cleaned up, matured and is one sexy beast! Yu-um! Speaking of sexy beasts, Terrance Howard was a good choice for Rhodes. Too bad he's such a freak 'cuz he is fine!
I loved the Iron Man comics as a kid and was excited to see the suit. Bravo!! It was even cooler than I expected. It was very well done and when Tony flies for the first time, I had goosebumps! The scenes with Tony as Iron Man were phenomonal. Maybe it was just me but they actually made the suit look kinda sexy. Iron Man had a sexy gait. Weird but true.
It was an origin story but it didn't dwell on it or make it the entire movie. I liked that. It got to the point early and didn't piss around with pointless crap like so many other origin movies tend to do (Spider-Man...I'm pointing at you). The script was surprisingly good considering they reported having all sorts of script problems early on in production. It didn't show at all. It was fast moving, clever, witty, sexy, action packed, and emotional. It had a heart and the human drama didn't weigh it down at all. It was well integrated and a pleasure to watch.
I think Marvel chose the right movie to finance on their own. They're laughing all the way to the bank and I for one applaud them for having the courage to step up and back a movie about a hero that not everyone liked. Tony Stark can be a selfish, pompous ass but under Jon Favreau's direction turned out to be a likable guy. I think it was great move on their part...bravo Marvel!
Anyone who hasn't seen it yet should go because it is one of the great surprises of 2008! You won't be disappointed!! Trust!
