Today had to be the slowest first-day-of-month-end I have experienced since I first started at the bank. Usually we are lined up to hell with seniors with their pension cheques and deadbeats cashing their welfare cheques. We actually had moments with no one in line. Weird! As we were leaving for the day, Grace turns to me and says, "Maybe they all got jobs and aren't on welfare anymore." I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard. Good one Gracie!

Perfect Day
9:35am - My second client of the day is a complete moron who can't grasp the concept of paying a bill.
9:45am - My fourth client of the day gives me much grief about signing the back of a cheque so he can get the cash to pay his bills.
9:49am - Craving a drink already...not a good sign.
10:10am - The power goes out in the building.
10:15am - Audrey says it's city-wide.
10:20am - Management decides to start letting people back in even though we have no power and it's a definite security risk. Minire says "Screw that!"
10:26am - Helped first client who wanted to cash a cheque. It was only for $108.00 so no problem.
10:30am - Different client wants to cash cheque for $1100.00. When informed he could only have $500.00, he leaves. No skin off my ass buddy.
10:38am - Darcie says "Headline! One little bank stays open to keep serving community during blackout."
10:47am - Barb B. informs us that Broad and 7th has power so we can send difficult transactions there.
11:03am - Power comes back on.
11:04am - "Can you update my bankbook?"
"No. The computers aren't on yet."
"So you can't update it?"
"Not for about 10 minutes."
"So we should wait then?"
"If you want it updated today, then yeah." DUH!
11:14am - I update moron's bankbook.
11:15am - Where is that waiter with my drink?
11:30am - T.G.I.L. (Thank God It's Lunchtime)!!
12:00pm to 4:15pm - Ahhh...much better day so far! The people are finally normal, the power is on, everything is right with the world again. Until month end tomorrow AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Went to see Euro Trip on Saturday night 'cuz my husband really wanted to see it. He has a weakness for teenage sex comedies (surprise surprise). Anyway, it's about what you would expect...vulgar jokes, tons of T and A (some of it male for a change) and at the root of it all...some guy who wants to get laid. What an original premise! I've never seen that before!
