Wll spring ever come? I am getting really tired of snow. This is month 6 and winter can kiss my white, hairy, cancerous, lipid butt! Especially when my winshield wipers decide that they don't want to work at all and it keeps snowing and I can't see out of my freakin' windscreen (that's what they call it in England). I am sooooo ready for spring. Bring it on Mother Nature!! I'm tired of being cold all the time and having to wear lots of clothes. It doesn't help either that the stores are bringing out their spring clothes. It just makes me more impatient for summer to get here. I want to bask in the sun's warm glowing warming glow! Stupid province with their 6 months of friggin' winter....(grumble grumble).

One night we were watching something on T.V. when this old country song comes on and my husband starts singing along. I give him this look like "what the hell?" and he says that his parents listened to country when he was growing up so he knows a lot of the oldies. I thank God very day that I had cool parents that listened to cool music like The Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Dr. Hook, Santana, Eric Clapton, Meat Loaf, Boney M., Led Zeppelin, among others. Even now, certain songs remind me of my folks and the drive out to Regina Beach to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Ahhhh...memories.

Well, the Academy Awards have come and gone and I must say it was a predictable year (but an awesome one!). The Lord of the Rings was finally honoured in a grand fashion. The acting awards were just as I suspected. Why oh why didn't I enter an Oscar contest of some sort. I would have cleaned house! Anyway, Charlize looked fab, as did Renee and Nicole and Angelina. Scarlett Johansson's gown was a color that did nothing for her and Uma looked hideous. I'm looking forward to seeing the best and worst dressed lists tonight on the entertainment news shows. In Billy Crystal's opening montage, did you notice that he replaced Orlando in both Return of the King and in Pirates of the Caribbean...coincidence? I think not. Who wouldn't want to be Orlando? Anyway, it was an enchanting evening and was enjoyed by...me.:)

I had some coupons for Blockbuster that I had to use before the end of February so I rented up a couple of movies last night. I got a couple of art-house flicks that had gotten good reviews and they were both excellent. I rented "Swimming Pool" and "thirteen". I thought they were both very well made and well acted, especially the cast of "thirteen". That's one movie that makes me not want to have children (especially girls).
