So I watched the Oscars last night as I do every year in eager anticipation of what the stars would be wearing. If I could die and be reincarnated as a dress, it would be Cate Blanchett's dress. I am so in love with this dress, it's ridiculous! She always is dressed to perfection, but last night she brought her A-game. She was definitely the shit last night!

As for the rest of the night, meh. It was fairly uneventful. A couple of upsets (like Alan Arkin beating Eddie Murphy and Pan's Labyrinth losing Best Foreign Language Film) and a couple of weird moments (like the sound effects choir and the interpretive dancers). Ellen was funny and surprisingly understated. I can't believe she's 49! That just threw me when I learned that. I don't know why, but it did. How many of you think that Peter O'Toole will get an honorary Oscar next year before he croaks. He was looking pretty fragile.

Anyway, I rented "The Departed" so I think I'll go and watch it.
