I just finished watching "Ginger Snaps" to refresh my memory before I go to see the sequel that started in theatres yesterday. It has got to be one of the best Canadian films I've ever seen (and I've seen quite a few). I absolutely adore it! It's a complete metaphor for a female going through puberty (which is probably why my husband doesn't see the brilliance of it like I do). It's a complete chick werewolf flick and it rocks! I'm really looking forward to seeing the sequel but I have to drag my husband to see it. He doesn't really want to go and my other movie buddy is completely squeamish and therefore doesn't do horror flicks. The prequel comes out in March. AWESOME!!

My husband is a Veterinarian and he happens to be on call tonight. He just got a call from a complete dumbass! Apparantly, this doofus was shooting his pellet gun at targets in the basement and accidentally shot his dog. So Doc is telling him that he needs to get an X-ray to see where the pellet is and that it has to be "done at the clinic because he can't take an x-ray machine to your house" . At this point I'm pretty much pissing myself to keep from laughing out loud, then Doc's telling him that it's gonna cost him big time cuz it's after hours. He must have repeated the price like 6 times and the moron still wasn't getting it. Doc really doesn't want to go see this idiot so he talks him into waiting until tomorrow to see his regular Vet because it'll be cheaper and it's not a life threating emergency at this point. The tool calls back about half a hour later to say he wants to be seen tonight after all. Hopefully this guy realizes the concept of money and will pay Doc because by the sounds of the one-way conversation I overheard, it doesn't look promising.

Speaking of the all-powerful Oscars, is this the year of the snub or what? Cold Mountain gets shut out in Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Director. Miramax must be crapping their pants. This is the first time in 10 years that Miramax has not had a Best Picture nominee in the running. Bet they're kicking themselves for passing on The Lord of the Rings now! Suckers!!

So The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is the favorite to win Best Picture according to an online betting site who posted odds pretty much as soon as they were announced. My heart cries Yes! but my head says dream on. They never seem to go for the "popular one" although Titanic would be an exception to that rule. Only one month until we find out if Peter Jackson gets the kudos he deserves or another kick in the shorts.

So it's really frickin' cold here in the crack of Canada. Hee hee...my friend Heather from Comox, B.C. coined the term "crack of Canada" cuz Regina rhymes with a certain part of the female anatomy. Ahhh...memories from a warmer time. Anyway, it was so damn cold at the bank today that at certain times I thought that I could actually see my breath. We all froze on the front line. It was ridiculous. Rumor has it that the Bank Of Montreal staff got to go home because they had no heat in their building. Lucky buggers. My hands got so cold that I could barely write or pick up coin. I swear if this weather doesn't break soon, I'm going to snap and freak out on someone at work. (Drama queen).

I was chatting on MSN with my friend Taylor who lives in Vancouver on Friday night, and I mentioned to him that I need a gay friend here so I can go to the gay bar. He said "It's not like they make you take a test at the door or anything." So true.....but it would just feel weird to go with another straight person. Kind of like...oooooooh look at the breeders!

So I was just reading my MSN gossip page that I get every day, and it mentioned that Ashton Kutcher loved the Cadillac Escalade he was loaned at Sundance so much that the car company is giving him one when he gets back to L.A. It comes equipped with TiVo, internet access, a DVD/CD player and three video screens. Why is it that the people who can easily afford such luxury always end up getting it for free? It's not fair I tells ya!
