There was a cabaret at SoHo last night that our friend, Kevin, asked us to go to (by "us" I mean me and my co-workers). He was raising money for his soccer team and asked if we could please be there (he told us that Dave would be there). So Ash and I decided to go. Her boyfriend and her friend came too. The four of us get there at 9:15-ish and there is no one there. Kevin was at Habano's which is pretty much next door to SoHo and he spotted us so he came over and asked us if we wanted to go to Habano's first for a drink. We went there and saw one of our former co-workers that left the bank to be a police officer. She's halfway done her training and this was the first night out for her and the other recruits since they started. We talked to her for a little bit and then sat down for a while. Byron started work at 10:00 and spotted us, so he came over and asked me when I was divorcing my husband to come to him. That totally caught me off guard and I didn't know what to say to him, so I just laughed (I think I get that from Ash). Then he said that he's more exciting and that I wouldn't be disappointed. Again, what do you say to that? I laughed again. Ash was laughing at me too. Her friend thought he was good looking. Actually, the girls at Hubby's clinic think he's hot too. Whatever. Anyway, he was telling me how good I looked and blah, blah, blah. I told my police officer friend and she said I could borrow her gun. Shortly after that, we decided to go over to SoHo.

It was still dead there and Kevin introduced us to the manager and he later on bought us all shots. We sat there for a while and then the Hell's Angels showed up. They were really creeping us out so after a while we decided to go dance because they weren't on the floor where the dance floor is (SoHo is 2 levels). There were very few people dancing and we decided at around 12:30 to leave. We talked to Kevin for a while outside. Back in the day, I dated his older brother(for only a month) so he always calls me his sister-in-law and he always jokes around. Apparently, Ash's boyfriend thinks that Kevin's after me by the way we joke around, but I think not. Anyway, Dave never showed and the night was a total bust. The end.

p.s. I apparently have it "going on" according to Ash's bf. Pfffffttttt....whatever!

I got my iPod back yesterday all fixed and back to normal! Yay!! I didn't realize how much I missed it. I sent it to a repair shop in Toronto where they did a diagnostic check and then e-mailed me the results and how much it would be to fix. It needed a new logic board ($99.99) and a new battery ($19.99). So I gave the go ahead to fix it and it was back in my grubby little hands 2 days later.

So I went out and bought a nice leather case for it today so it will always be protected from my stupidity (and I can wear it on my belt!).

So the weather stayed crappy all day yesterday (super windy and rainy) so no one wanted to go into the hot tub, but other than that, I think everyone had a good time at the party. We had a delicious roast that we cooked on the bbq, but when we brought it in and hubby cut it up, all the fat dripped all over the cupboard, down the side of the cupboard and down the side of the stove. It was disgusting and we couldn't really clean it while everyone was here so we had to wait until everyone left. By then it was all congealed and totally disgusting. It made me want to be a vegetarian...it was that gross! There was lots of food left over, but no one wanted to take any home so we're stuck with all this food and half of it I can't eat. The dogs were good (thank goddess) and they didn't pester anyone too much (they're big mooches).

Next year, someone else can host it and hopefully we'll have it a little earlier in the summer when there's actually nice weather.
