So I'm back at work. Ugh. It was nice to sort of have a week off that wasn't planned except for the fact that I was a hideous freak and the itching drove me insane. I don't mind my job, but I still live for the weekends.

Hubby's brother is coming down from Saskatoon to go to a stag this weekend and apparently he's bringing 3 other guys with him. They're all staying here. Could be an interesting weekend...

Hubby and I were at Blockbuster yesterday looking for something to rent and we decided to break down and get "Running Scared" because everything else was out and we had heard that it was good. Were we glad we did! What an adrenaline rush! The MMPA warning said strong brutal violence and we kind of laughed at that. We thought that they were bored and needed some new terms to describe violence. Well, it was right on the money. It's very violent and quite graphic. It was awesome! And who knew Paul Walker could actually act? I was surprised and impressed. He was quite impassioned and very into the role which made him believeable (for once). It's quite the action flick with numerous twists and turns along the way that keep you riveted. There was one scene that's in the trailer where Paul Walker's character is held down on the ice and a puck comes sailing into his face at high speed. Well, he takes more than one puck to the face, and having had a high speed puck hit me in the face once I can tell you that the blood that pools on the ice is quite accurate, although he doesn't end up as swollen as he should have been when it was over and done with. All the actors in it were excellent and the script was good. The visual style was interesting and the end credit sequence is quite brilliant so don't turn it off right away when it's over. All in all it was an unexpected gem and I highly recommend it so rent it. RENT IT NOW!!!
