Doing better today. He actually slept last night which was great and he ate well which is a good sign. Right now he's beside me begging for chips and he hasn't done that in about a week so yay! He's still a little whiny but nothing like Saturday night. His incision is still a little leaky, hence the bandage around his midsection, but it's nothing to be concerned about. He's wagging his tail more today and he actually barked at someone which he also hasn't done in a few days. so I think he's on the mend. Hopefully his tests will come back benign. Think positive thoughts!
It's been a hell of a trying couple of days here at the 'ol homestead. Our beloved furry son, Vader, has been diagnosed with cancer. He had surgery yesterday to remove his spleen which was full of tumors. Hubby and his associate did the surgery and it was the hardest thing he's ever had to do. He removed the spleen and couldn't find any other tumors so we're praying that it hasn't spread and that The Dude will be okay.Last night was rough because he was in so much pain that he spent most of the night whining and gorked out on drugs and there was nothing we could do to calm him down. We got maybe 4 hours of sleep the whole night (and that's being optimistic). Needless to say, we're physically, mentally and emotionally tired today. I don't think I've cried so much in a long long time. Luckily, my co-workers let me go to the clinic to be with him and they're all praying for our little family. They're the best! We're hoping to get some sleep tonight, but we'll see. He's eating and drinking now and walking around a lot. That's a good sign, but he's still whiny and it's driving our sleep deprived selves mental. Will keep you posted on how it's going. In the meantime, I think I'm going to try to get him to take a nap (so far it's a no go).
