Since I watch American Idol faithfully, I will start a running commentary on who gets booted off. Wednesday night was the first casuality...Leah Labelle. She was Paula's wild card choice(God knows why). She wasn't very good and had a horrible performance Tuesday night so it's no big surprise that she got the hook. All I can say is I'm glad that they didn't make her sing after they told her that she was out. They did that last year and I thought it was so cruel. Instead, they made the 2 rejects sing before they told them who was ousted. Personally, I think that she was a wild card choice just because she was white. They needed some caucasian blood to even it out a bit. Heaven forbid if the most talented people make it and the whitey's don't.....

Last night we went to see "Dawn of the Dead." The original from 1979 scared my husband so much when he was a kid that he had zombie nightmares for a long time. He wouldn't watch any type of zombie movie. I rented the original last summer to show him that it wasn't scary anymore. He watched it and wasn't freaked out so when we saw trailers for the new one I asked him if we were going to see it. He said that it looked freaky, but he'd give it whirl. So we went to see it on opening night last night and it was pretty good. The script wasn't as witty as the original and there was no biker gang to wreak havoc, but all in all it was an entertaining remake. Lots of shots of zombie's heads bowing apart. Cool. The ending was pretty clever because if you are like most dumbasses and leave as soon as the first credit hits the screen, you will miss the true ending. You think it has ended but the director intersperses clips with the credits. It goes credit, movie clip, credit, movie clip, and so on. The ending was awesome although the original ending left you with some hope, this one doesn't. It shows you what happens to them after they sail off into the sunrise. So we are sitting there letting everyone else leave, when the morons who are leaving discover that it's not really over yet and stand there to watch. YO GOOBER! SIT THE FRICK DOWN!! That just bugs the hell out of me when people do that. Have I mentioned how much I hate people? Anyway, I give "Dawn of the Dead" my seal of approval.

Are we living in the 1800's or what? I went out to lunch today with my friend Nathan and it was a huge deal to everyone at work. All aftrenoon I heard "That wasn't your husband was it?". Can't a woman have lunch with someone other than her husband? Am I crazy to think that? yeeaahhh.....no. The ladies I work with really need to get a life of their own so they can stop obsessing over Darcie's and mine (especially Darcie's).
Oh, and just to make my afternoon hell complete, they put the damn country station back on.
Reason number 642 why I should get another job....

I watched a documentary of porn star Stacey Valentine called "The Girl Next Door". It was interesting in a sad sort of way. There's just this sadness about her that's really affecting. She's a plastic surgery junkie who obviously doesn't like herself very much if she's always trying to alter her appearance. She tries to sort of date someone from the business, but they do a movie together and he can't handle her being with other guys so he dumps her. She loses out the AVN award for Best Performer and is just crushed. She goes home alone to be with her cats and goes into a depression that she tries to come out of by getting, you guessed it, more plastic surgery. She goes to a hypno-therapist to try and lose weight but I don't think it worked 'cuz she got more liposuction not too soon afterwards. It ended with her signing with one of the porno companies for an exclusive contract. She seemed happy, but who knows?
