Only 17 more days until Oscar...

You know you're watching a Canadian movie when.....the heroine beats the werewolf to death with a curling rock.

I went to see "Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed" last night. There was only one showing and it was at 9:55 pm. I was thinking I'd be dragging my ass all day today but I was fairly energetic...weird I know. Anyway, the movie was okay...definitely not as good as the first one, but then sequels usually aren't. The script wasn't as cleverly punchy as the first one, but the acting was spot on. I'm still looking forward to the prequel coming out in March!

Geez...I've noticed that the majority of my posts are about T.V or movies. Does nothing of any importance happen in my day to day life that is worth writing about? Apparently not.

I just found out that one of the best T.V. shows ever is being released on DVD! Freaks and Geeks. This is an absolutely brilliant show that was on NBC for a very short time. It takes place in the seventies and follows a smart girl named Lindsay (played by Linda Cardellini who is now on E.R. and played Velma in the Scooby-Doo movie)and her freaky and geeky friends. It was critically acclaimed which of course it means that the general masses didn't get it and therefore didn't watch it. When it was cancelled, there was an uproar from a bunch of dedicated fans, but obviously wasn't enough for NBC to reneg on it's decision. The fans even had a website petition set up to save the show, but to no avail. The creators of the show were so touched by the fan response that they finally got a distribution deal to put the series on DVD. Yay!! It comes out April 6 and I will be first in line to buy it!
