So Hubby and I went to Las Vegas for our summer vacay this year since we've never been there when it's actually been warm.

Our plane left at 6:00 am so we went to the airport at 4:45-ish. As we're waiting for our turn to go through security, the female agent says to me that she's picking me to be her full search victim for the day. All I could picture was being led to a windowless room and her slapping a rubber glove on. Fortunately, she just wanted to go through my carry on bag and do an over the clothes body search. It's 5 in the morning and I'm standing with my arms outstretched while she feels me up. Not a good start to the trip.

Once we got to Vegas, I found out that I actually have a heat threshold. I always thought that I could tolerate extreme heat well, but apparently I had never encountered EXTREME heat before. It was mostly around 116F (46C) but it got up to 128F (53C). If the sun touched your bare skin, it felt like you were on fire. It was the craziest feeling ever! The second craziest feeling ever was that the wind was hot. When the wind blew, it felt like I was sitting in my car with the heater on in the middle of summer (not that I've ever actually done that, but that's what I imagine it would be like)!! Needless to say we didn't go out much during the day, but the nights weren't much cooler either.

This time we stayed at Treasure Island or T.I. as it's called now. We usually stay at the other end of the strip, but the shows we wanted to see were close to T.I. and the price was right so we stayed there. It was nice enough, but we were on the 4th floor so we didn't get a real good view of the strip or the show out front of the hotel. We could see one of the ship's masts and occasionally see a girl now and then dancing on the top of the mast.

We went to see "Phantom: The Vegas Spectacular" at the Venetian and it was even more amazing than I would have imagined. The sets and the costumes were incredible and the actor playing the Phantom was astounding! The chandelier was so cool and actually came racing down towards the heads of the people sitting in the centre seats. Some of them actually screamed. It was great! The show started 20 minutes late because of a bunch of people coming in late. Americans are not the promptest patrons and it kinda pissed me off. Then a bunch of people kept getting up during the show to go to the bathroom or God knows what. It was so rude! Sit the f**k still for 95 fricking minutes!! It's really not that difficult! But since Americans seem to have no regard for anyone but themselves, I shouldn't have been surprised. The tickets were quite pricey, but worth every penny! The next day we went to the half price ticket place and found out they had Phantom tickets, so we were pretty choked, but what can you do?

The next night we went to "Bite" at the Stratosphere. It's an erotic vampire rock show. The theatre has tables like at Casino Regina's Show Lounge, which had that old school Vegas feel to it. The announcement comes over the speakers that the show is about to start and no cameras are allowed, blah blah blah. Then she says that the Rock Angels will be going into the crowd at times during the show and they're not to be touched, but they can touch you and they'd love to touch you. Shortly after that was said, the lights went out, the stage lit up and the screens on either side of the stage started showing what the general premise of the show was about. As the deep male voice that was reading the words showing on the screen was talking, I feel someone playing with my hair. It felt so good! I tilt my head back to see who it was, and this gorgeous vampire chick gives me a smile and moves on towards the stage. Awesome!! It turns out that the show has no dialogue at all and that it's set to a bunch of classic rock songs that tell the story as it goes. The girls get on the stage and start dancing. Eventually they discard their tops and dance some more. They are all superb and they were wearing the most delicious boots. Black and form fitting and shiny...just how I likes them. Their names were Cat, Tush, Pain, Ice, Fire and Shimmy. Hubby liked Tush while I preferred Shimmy. They were all pretty hot so it didn't really matter. The show involved dance, magic, acrobatics and song. It was very entertaining. But then even if it sucked, I would have loved it because it involved vampires.

I didn't really shop too much because Scrooge McDuck was with me and he can totally kill a shopping buzz. I bought a few T-shirts and a new extreme push-up bra from Victoria's Secret (it's so awesome - it looks like I actually have boobs!).

We'll probably never go in the summer again because of the heat, but it was fun anyway and a different experience then we've ever had in Vegas before!
