I finally got to see "Clerks II"! Yay!! It wasn't quite as good as the first one, but then most sequels aren't. It did have it's moments though such as Jay's tribute to "Silence of the Lambs" and Randal's cut-down of "Lord of the Rings". I won't go into detail because I won't be able to do them justice, but trust me when I say that both those scenes are brutally funny. It was kind of cool to see what Dante and Randal were up to after all these years. I sort of figured that Randal would stay the same, but I figured that Dante would have grown up after the first movie. He always seemed like the responsible one. One minute you're in your 20's at a dead-end job with the world ahead of you and the next thing you know, you're in your 30's and life is passing you by. Believe me, I've lived it so I could totally relate to what Dante was going through in this movie.
I love Kevin Smith and he's one of the few directors in the world that I would love to meet, but does his wife have to be in every movie he makes? I suppose that if I was married to him, I'd want to be in his movies too so I digress. I think he's fantastic and I will continue to support him no matter what kind of films he makes even if everyone else writes him off (what does everyone else know anyway?). Viva Silent Bob!
