Anyway, we went to see "Spider-Man 2" last Saturday and I have to say what a relief!! What a difference a decent writer makes! It was a zillion times better than the first one. It was everything the first one wishes it could have been. The thing I am most impressed with is that it didn't cheat us. I am speaking specifically of the scene from the trailer where Doc Ock places a captive Spider-Man in front of Harry Osbourne. I was so afraid they'd cop-out somehow, but they delivered big time! I highly recommend this movie and even for those who don't like comic book movies believe me when I say that the characters are highly developed and there is real human drama and not just a bunch of CG fights. It was awesome. I'm so glad that Sam Raimi redeemed himself because after the first one, I was very disappointed in him. I love his "Evil Dead" movies and "Darkman" was great, but "Spider-Man" was crap. I blame it on the writer though 'cuz David Koepp is a total hack. I've always thought so and he has done nothing to change my mind. I am so happy that they didn't get him to do the second one. Hallelujah!!
